This is swatch of Julep Gabrielle! It’s a beautiful smoky mulberry creme polish! One coat is enough to cover all the nail, but I put two coats just in case. The formula is kind of gooey and thick – maybe because it’s been a while since this polish was made? But still a lovely color!!
Here are photos from different lightings.
I have wanted to try London Butter for a long time. And I found one at Nordstrom Rack, on sale for half off – yay!
This is Shambolic, a part of holiday series from 2012. This nail polish is largely lots of little purple and darker (grey or purple) with bits of small silver glitters. On top, there are mix of large hexagonal silver and purple glitters. Yeah, it’s pretty complex, and it’s hard to tell what is going on from kind of far away. Still, it’s a very gorgeous nail polish and I have not used glitter nail polish that were as complex as Shambolic.
The texture is bumpy in an unflattering way, just because this is lots of glitters, but it’s nothing that a good top coat can fix!
Am I going to try more Butter nail polish? Hopefully I will be able to find more ones that are on sale. ^^
Sephora Henna-Thing is Possible is one of my favorite nail polish. It’s not shimmery or glittery, but still very shiny! The color is close to wine color, but the highlight is pink, so it has a mysterious tone to it.
I used It’s real 18 gold top coat over it. And I used China Glaze I am Not a Lion on the ring finger for accent. I will have an entry for just Henna-thing is Possible and I am Not a Lion later!
I bought the top coat at $15, and I still think it was one of the best purchase I have made! I wish I can take a more close-up photo, but iPhone is not good at close-up…
Here are the nails over sunlight.
And here is a photo under shade.
My company was doing a Julep giveaway for Valentine’s day. After I mentioned that I wish I could have entered the giveaway, too, a co-worker gave me an awesome present of three Julep nail polishes! And Renee is the first one out of the three that I tried out. Thank you Bonnie!!
I usually don’t dig purple color that much. But I absolutely love this color Renee is a pastel purple color and I feel that it compliments my Asian, somewhat tan skin well. And I also want to note that this color looks good on short nail!
I don’t know what the trend for spring nail color is, but I am going to wear this color often this spring and summer!
All of these photos were taken outdoor, under somewhat sunny sky.
I painted my nails again. This time I am pretty satisfied so I won’t redo it for at least a week!!
This is with two coats of Sephora OPI Alley Cat, which is a nice thin polish of fuchsia, and with Sephora OPI It’s Real 18k Gold on top.
On the hand above, I applied two coats of the gold top coat. And on the hand below, I applied one coat of the gold top coat. I regret painting two coats of the top coat on my left hand but I don’t want to remove gold speckles from my hand.
And here is picture with the nail polish bottle. I took the photo in-door, under a incandescent lamp and whereas I took the other ones while waiting for the bus. Sorry for the yellow photo!
